Why Two Birds One Stoned Exists 🐦⬛
What made me decide to build this site?

(Cannabis users don't all look the same. Because they aren't)
Hello fellow human,
I'll know you must be busy so I'll keep this quick.
To cut straight to it.
A best mate of mine lost four years of campus accommodation because he smoked a joint outside his apartment block.
Another was dragged to court in Ireland for having €0.50 worth of weed on him. That's not a typo. Fifty cents. In the district court. This was 3 years ago.
And I got strip searched, filmed naked, and denied entry to a festival, all over a couple of joints
The inconsistency and harshness of these interactions made me question why cannabis carries so much stigma. How society handles cannabis today feels wildly out of touch. Knowing that these were only my own personal experiences, I knew there were more people out here with stories like these.
The accumulation of these moments inspired me to start this conversation.
What's going to be happening here?
Two things are going to be happening:
- Safely educating the public about cannabis - so if you do interact with it, you can do so in a safe and informed manner.
- Break and develop on the stigma that surrounds cannabis - this just needs doing, so here we are.

I have met nurses, engineers, accountants, baristas, mechanics, scientists, business owners, athletes, doctors, electricians, plumbers, midwives the list goes on, who have consumed cannabis and are highly driven, functional and healthy people. And this is just me personally.
I know there's a world of people out there that can co exist with cannabis and live a fulfilling life. Living proof is everywhere, you just don't always hear about it.
No one should feel weird or ashamed for lighting up. You enjoy a bit of weed? Cool. So do millions of others, and they're out here thriving. It's time we stopped whispering and started owning it.
Cannabis can enrich a life with structure, purpose, and health. Without those, it can slowly take more than it gives.
Let Me Share The Stories
So why have I decided to do this? Why spend all my spare time on something like this?

The University Story
I was 18, just starting uni, when one of my best friends, smart, driven, solid head on his shoulders got caught smoking a joint outside his apartment. The university banned him from all campus accommodation. One moment. Four years gone. While the rest of us got to enjoy campus life, he was shut out over a bit of weed.
This was a decision that didn't hurt anyone, that many of us made, he just had the bad luck of being caught. And for that, he missed out on some of great life experiences.
He went on to create the University's entrepreneurship society, graduate with a first class honors degree, work for a multinational company, and now he's engaged and building a house. One joint didn't define him, but the rules tried to. Meanwhile, the college pub (yup the stables) was packed every night, and no one batted an eye. And in fairness I was probably at the pub having a great time too. But that was the first time where I was a bit like "hmmm that doesn't add up".
€0.50 Worth of Cannabis

This story is real and happened to one of my best friends. During COVID he got caught stubbing out the end of a joint. He was back home, got spotted, fined, and summoned to court by the Gardaí (Police). He showed us the charge sheet. I shit you not, it read like this:
"On the above date and location, you were found in possession of cannabis valued at approximately €0.50. This was detected during a routine stop and search by An Garda Síochána under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977, Section 23 (power to search persons suspected of possessing drugs)."
John Doean my man, what were you thinking? Ya criminal. 50 cents.. Man got caught with the stinging roger and had to go to court. 50 cent equates to 24 milligrams of weed. It's like getting caught with a quarter shot of coffee. I'm sorry but what. Lord baby Jesus. It's genuinely confusing how this happened. I mean this is where our government was putting its resources? During a global pandemic? To the lads and lasses in the Leinster house, you know this is madness, there's no two ways about it.
Honestly, where do you start and finish with something like that haha
My Festival Experience
And finally, the one that made it personal for me. What kickstarted this idea. My own interaction with the boys in blue & cannabis. This time in Australia. I thought I'd keep it chill, roll a few joints and enjoy the music.
Instead, I found myself in a police tent, bearing it all for the officers with their cam recorder. Being filmed naked was a bit much but they got what they got. The fine and caution? Fair enough, I broke the law. But the contrast was jarring, thousands inside, drinking freely, while I was being treated like a criminal. Little auld police doggo did me dirty. Still love him. My own fault really.
So I'm walking home, a bit buzzed, a bit pissed off and I just decided: that's it, I'm going to change how people see cannabis. That was the moment. All the stories, all the madness, it made me start asking: why the hell are there still such ridiculous restrictions on something that's helping people live better lives… while others are still being punished just for having it. After everything I'd seen, heard and gone through, I couldn't just leave it. I had to do something about it.
Shit does not add up when you analyse it. To think these are only my own personal experiences. How many more stories are out there like this?.

And that's what's brought me here. So hello x
Side Note: Cannabis & Responsible Use

I know cannabis is a drug, and like any drug, it can be abused. Plenty of people do overuse it, and I'm not here to pretend that doesn't happen. Cannabis is just one part of the equation when it comes to overall health and wellbeing. It's important to consider all aspects of your life, your mental health, physical health, social interactions, productivity, and overall happiness.
If cannabis becomes the only focus in your life, if everything else starts shrinking around it then you do not have a healthy relationship with it. If you come home from work everyday and do nothing else but rip the bong, then that's not it.
What I'm trying to do here is provide accurate, balanced information about cannabis so people can make informed decisions. I want to educate. Cannabis is complex. It can be incredibly beneficial, but it's not perfect. Just like anything, it requires responsible use, understanding, and an awareness of how it fits into your life as a whole.
That's why I'm here to give you the facts, break down the stigma, and help you make sense of something that has been misunderstood and misrepresented for far too long.
But if it's integrated intentionally, as part of a life that's already rich with movement, growth, and connection then it can enhance your life in real, meaningful ways.
Two Birds One Stoned will show you the highly functional, successful & driven people who consume Sweet Mary Jane. We exist.
How Am I Going to Educate?
I've put together six core pieces of content on the site so far:
- Die Anatomie der Cannabis-Pflanze 🌿
- Die Geschichte von Cannabis auf der Erde 🌍.
- Das Endocannabinoid-System erklärt 🧠
- Cannabis-Verbindungen: Jenseits von THC 🧬
- Cannabis-Konsummethoden 🌬️
- Medizinische Anwendungen von Cannabis 🏥
I've made a few different ways to take these topics in, because not everyone learns or listens the same way.
First up, there's a quick 2-3 minute YouTube video that breaks down the key points. Easy to digest, straight to the point, a solid starting place.
Then there's the audio version, me reading it out, plus the occasional ramble. Ideal for the commute, a walk, or any time you can't be bothered staring at a screen.
And if you want the full story, not just the highlights, take 5–10 minutes and read the article. That's where you will get the full picture, the good stuff.
I get that cannabis might not be your main obsession, life's busy, and we've all got stuff going on. So if you only catch the 2 minute video, that's a big ass W. If it sparks your interest, throw on the audio version next time you're on the move.
The Endocannabinoid System - My Favorite Discovery

My favourite article that I've been learning & writing about the last two years is "The Endocannabinoid system". For me learning about it, the whole recent discovery and way in which the system works inside us is maadddd. A very quick snapshot of it is as follows:
When you consume cannabis you are consuming what we call cannabinoid compounds, such as THC & CBD. What we have discovered (in 1988) is that your own body's cells, right now, are making the exact same type of compounds, naturally inside you. Something we had no idea about pre 1988.
Annnnnnnd it looks like it's a pretty big ass discovery.
Like, take Jo Cameron for example, a woman in Scotland who literally can't feel pain. Not during childbirth, not after surgery. She didn't realise her skin was burning, not until she smelled her own flesh burning. Scientists eventually found out her body produces sky high levels of natural endocannabinoids. She wasn't numb, she was saturated. Her body was constantly activating this system. And neither she, nor the rest of us, had a clue.
Along with that, if you've ever experienced a "Runners high". That feeling of euphoria and bliss after intense exercise such as running, weightlifting or swimming, guess what's facilitating this? Your endocannabinoid system. This is your own body making its own cannabis like compounds inside you, that give you the feeling of euphoria and bliss.
So off you go and smash that max bench press/squat or run that timed mile, then that good feeling runs through you.

What's happening there is your body mass produces anandamide, (AEA for short), your own cannabis like compound (discovered in 1992) that locks to receptors which then allows for the release of dopamine, which then gives us that natural high we experience.
It all made sense. Humans had been interacting with cannabis for thousands of years, and now we knew why. We weren't introducing something foreign to our bodies , we were activating a system that already existed inside us.
Your own body making its own cannabis like compounds, to reward you after exercise. Pretty interesting?
As Dr. David J. Linden, PhD from John Hopkins Medicine writes. "Exercise increases the levels of endocannabinoids in the bloodstream. Unlike endorphins, endocannabinoids can move easily through the cellular barrier separating the bloodstream from the brain, where these mood-improving neuromodulators promote short-term psychoactive effects such as reduced anxiety and feelings of calm"
Something we have only discovered thanks to cannabis. This particular example of the endocannabinoid system in action only scratches the surface of what's happening.
The relationship between plant & human is starting to make more sense.
So if you enjoy learning about new things give that article a go. There's some decent 3/4 pints deep knowledge there to pass on. Become the pub expert por favor x
Aaaaaand Finally
For anyone putting out scaremongering news about cannabis, hello 🙂
Ireland's top selling daily newspaper ran a front page headline claiming 5,000 people were hospitalised from cannabis use.

Source: Irish Independent
Read that and you'd think the plant itself was sending people straight to A&E. That's the goal, make cannabis sound dangerous, make people talk, and sell more papers. Fair play if your job is to sell stories, well done. But let's dig deeper.
The number was heavily influenced by synthetic cannabis, which is a completely different drug.
Synthetic cannabis isn't cannabis. It's literal man made chemicals sprayed onto dried plant matter to mimic the effects of THC. That's it. No natural compounds, no cannabis flower, just a lab made cocktail designed to slip past drug tests.
It's cheaper to make, easier to distribute, and way more dangerous. And guess what? It only exists because the real plant is illegal.
Ban the natural version, and you create the market for the toxic knockoff. That's not harm reduction, that's policy backfiring in real time.

So maybe instead of using these numbers to push fear, we ask a better question: why are people turning to synthetic in the first place?
Or in The Echo, which is owned by the Irish Times, Ireland's second highest selling daily newspaper. A headline that reads "Ireland has a drug problem, and legalisation is not a panacea."
I understand, that's a discussion worth having. But the lead image? A joint. Even though the article focuses on drug deaths across Europe and cannabis isn't associated with fatal overdoses.
Why use that image? Feels deliberate. This kind of stuff stacks up. Small choices, subtle framing, constant reinforcement of the same outdated narrative.
I'm Irish, so I mainly see what's being pushed in the media over here. That's why I've given these examples, but it exists everywhere.
For example, across the pond in England. A Police Commissioner in July 2025, compared cannabis to cancer, psychosis, and birth defects, and called for it to be reclassified as a Class A drug, putting it on par with heroin.
Along with that in the same month (July 2025), some of the highest ranking police officials in the UK including the head of the College of Policing (the guy who literally sets the standard for policing in the country), the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police and the Chief of Merseyside Police made a joint public statement calling for a tougher stance on cannabis. They said the smell of cannabis is a sign of crime and disorder. By that logic, the smell of fresh paint is a sign of illegal renovation and the smell of petrol means someone's planning arson.
Let that sink in. In their own country where they state that cannabis is "chronically dangerous", the plant is being prescribed by doctors, including the NHS, to help patients with serious illnesses. Cooooool.
The stigma didn't appear overnight. It was built, article by article, headline by headline. So now it's our turn to start breaking it down.
One post at a time. The truth's harder to ignore. We coming.
A Quick Life Perspective
Now with that I hope ye all have a sick ass day. Completely off topic. Remember we are all gone in 70 years or so, so none of what I've just written or you've read will matter to any of us. Why?
Because we'll all be gone. I'll be gone, you'll be gone, and the things stressing you out today will be as irrelevant as yesterday's rain. There's a strange beauty in that. So whatever's getting you down, take a breath. Smile. Give yourself every chance to be happy.

Here's a concept I love. Imagine winning the lottery, 50 million dollars. You'd be running around the house, losing your mind. What were the actual odds of you winning?? Now pause and realize this: the odds of you existing are far, far smaller than winning that lottery. The fact that you're here, alive, breathing, thinking, is quite outrageous tbh.
How wild is it that we all get to exist. And on top of that, somehow exist with your friends, on this tiny planet at this very moment? It's incredible, nobody knows why we were given this chance but we were. Switching to the headspace of being extremely lucky to experience earth can help.
So, yeah, life can be messy, stressful, and even downright ridiculous sometimes, but it's also a massive, improbable gift.
When life feels heavy, remind yourself: none of it will matter soon enough. So smile, enjoy the ride, and let's make the most of this crazy chance we've been given. You're winning just by being here. ✌️
Preachy ass hoe.
Peace x
